Why convert PDF to PPT?
A PDF is great for sharing, but you can't easily reuse it in a presentation. If you need to present a report, update an old deck, or rework a document into slides, rebuilding everything by hand takes hours. Converting PDF to PowerPoint gives you an editable starting point in seconds, so you can adjust the content and present with confidence.
Turn a PDF into an editable PowerPoint
Convert PDF to PowerPoint and turn pages into slides you can restyle, reorder, and present. It is handy for reusing slides that only exist as a PDF.
Download the .pptx, open it in PowerPoint or Google Slides, and adjust text, images, and layout as needed.
Quick tips
- Start from a slide deck exported as PDF for best results.
- Check fonts on the new slides.
- Remove unneeded pages first by splitting the PDF.
Turning a PDF into slides you can actually edit
How do I convert a PDF to an editable PowerPoint?
Upload your PDF, convert it, and open the .pptx in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote. Each PDF page becomes its own slide, and text and images are carried over so you can restyle, reorder and present them.
It is the easiest way to rescue a presentation that only exists as a PDF, for example a deck that was emailed to you, a conference handout or slides exported by a colleague.
Why does my PDF to PPT result look different from the PDF?
PDFs are built for printing, so each element sits at a fixed spot. Slides rely on layouts, placeholders and theme fonts. Converting means mapping fixed positions onto editable objects, and custom fonts, layered graphics, gradients and complex diagrams may not map perfectly.
Expect a strong starting point rather than a pixel-perfect copy. Check fonts and spacing on the first few slides, fix them once with the slide master, and the rest will follow.
How do I get the best slides from a PDF?
Use a PDF that was exported from a presentation or a design tool and still has selectable text. Clear, high-resolution images convert better than blurry ones. If the PDF has far more pages than you need, split out the pages first so you are not deleting slides afterwards.
Scanned or image-only PDFs need OCR to recognise the text, and OCR is available on paid plans.
Can I convert a PDF to PowerPoint on my phone?
Yes. The converter works in a mobile browser, so you can convert on your phone and then open the file in the PowerPoint or Google Slides app. For heavy editing, a larger screen is more comfortable.
Popular ways to use it

Pull a few slides from a handout and adapt them into your own talk.
Update a client presentation
Fix dates, names and figures in a PDF proposal without redesigning it.

Convert lecture notes to slides and add your own examples and questions.
Troubleshooting and common problems
Text appears as an image I cannot edit.
Some elements, such as charts or text drawn as shapes, stay as images. Retype the key text in a text box, or recreate the chart in PowerPoint.
Fonts look wrong on the slides.
Install the original font if you have it, or change fonts once through the slide master so the whole deck updates.
Slides are the wrong aspect ratio.
In PowerPoint, open Design > Slide Size and pick 16:9 or 4:3, then check that images and text still fit.
The converter reports that my PDF has no text.
The file is probably a scan. Scanned files need OCR, which is available on paid plans.
Good to know
- PPTX output
- You get a standard .pptx file that opens in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote and LibreOffice Impress.
- One slide per page
- Every PDF page is converted into a separate slide, in the same order.
- Animations are not included
- PDFs are static, so transitions and animations from an original deck are not recovered.
