Why delete pages from a PDF?
Blank pages, duplicate scans, cover sheets and confidential appendices often need to go before a file is shared or uploaded. Removing them keeps the document short, tidy and safe to send.
Remove pages from a PDF without installing software
Use the Delete PDF Pages tool to cut blank pages, duplicates or sensitive sheets out of a PDF. Click a page to mark it, or type page numbers and ranges for long documents.
The saved file contains only the pages you kept, in their original order. Because the work happens in your browser, your document is never uploaded.
Quick tips
- Check the highlighted pages once more before saving.
- Use ranges such as 10-15 to remove a whole section.
- Compress the result if you plan to email it.
Remove pages from a PDF: what to know before you delete
How do I remove a page from a PDF without a desktop editor?
Open the PDF in the Delete PDF Pages tool and every page appears as a thumbnail. Click the pages you no longer need, or type their numbers into the Pages to delete box, and the tool marks them for removal. When you click Delete Pages it builds a new PDF from the pages you kept.
Because the work happens in your browser, nothing is uploaded and there is no queue. The original file on your device is never changed, so you can always go back to it.
How do I delete several pages or a range at once?
Type a list such as 1, 3, 7-9 and the tool marks pages 1, 3, 7, 8 and 9 in one go. This is much faster than clicking through a long document, and it is handy when you already know which pages are blank, duplicated or confidential.
You can mix both methods: type a range, then click a few extra thumbnails to add or remove single pages before you save.
Is deleting a page the same as hiding it?
No. The tool does not cover a page with a white box or hide it from view. It writes a new PDF that simply does not contain the deleted pages, so they are not part of the file you download.
That is different from the original document, which still has every page. If a page held sensitive details, delete it from every copy you plan to share, and remember that any bookmarks or links that pointed to it may no longer work.
What should I check before sending the shortened PDF?
Scroll through the result once. Page numbers printed on the pages do not change, so a document that used to read 1 to 10 may now jump from 4 to 7. If that matters, run the file through Add Page Numbers afterwards, or use Organize PDF to reorder what is left.
Popular ways to use it
Remove blank pages from a scan
Scanners often add empty back sides. Mark them and download a cleaner file before you email it.
Cut a cover sheet or fax page
Drop the first page of a document you received so you can forward only the content.
Shorten a report for a client
Take out internal notes, appendices or draft pages and send only what the reader needs.
Prepare a single upload
Many forms ask for specific pages only. Delete the rest so the file fits the request.
Tidy a combined PDF
After merging several files, remove duplicated divider or title pages in one pass.
Troubleshooting and common problems
The Delete Pages button is disabled.
Mark at least one page for deletion. You also need to leave at least one page unmarked, because a PDF cannot be empty.
My page range is rejected.
Use page numbers from 1 to the last page, separated by commas, and ranges written like 4-6. A number higher than the page count is not accepted.
The tool says the PDF is password protected.
Unlock the file with the Unlock PDF tool first, then come back and delete the pages.
The page numbers on the pages look wrong now.
Printed numbers are part of the page, so they stay as they were. Re-number the file with Add Page Numbers if you need a clean sequence.
Good to know

- You download a new file. Keep the original if you may need the removed pages later.
- At least one page must remain
- The tool will not create an empty PDF.
- Runs in your browser
- Pages are removed on your device, so very large files depend on your computer's memory.

FAQs
Is this Delete PDF Pages tool free?
Yes. It is free to use, with no watermark and no signup.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Pages are removed inside your browser, so the file stays on your device.
Can I delete several pages at once?
Yes. Click multiple pages, or type a list such as 2, 4-6.
Can I delete every page?
No. At least one page must remain in the saved PDF.
Does deleting pages change the rest of the document?
No. The remaining pages keep their content and order.
How do I remove a page from a PDF?
Upload the PDF, click the page you want to remove, and click Delete Pages.
Can I remove pages by number?
Yes. Type numbers or ranges such as 2, 4-6 into the Pages to delete box.
How do I delete multiple pages from a PDF at once?
Type several numbers or ranges into the Pages to delete box, for example 2, 5, 8-10, or click each thumbnail you want to remove, then click Delete Pages.
Can I delete the first page of a PDF only?
Yes. Mark page 1 and leave the rest unmarked. The new PDF starts at what used to be page 2.
Will deleting pages make my PDF smaller?
Usually yes, because the removed pages are no longer in the file, but the saving depends on how much those pages contained. Use Compress PDF if you need it much smaller.
Can I get a deleted page back?
Not from the downloaded file. Start again from your original PDF, which this tool does not change.
What is the difference between deleting and extracting pages?
Deleting keeps everything except the pages you pick. Extracting keeps only the pages you pick. The Split PDF tool is the better fit when you want to save selected pages as their own file.
